Hardrock FC CEO Arrested

Hardrock Football Club boss Kudzanai Hove is in police custody after violent disturbances broke out during a recent Premier Soccer League match in Kwekwe. The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed on Tuesday that the forty-four-year-old chief executive was arrested for his connection to the trouble at Chahwanda Stadium. The violent incident became so severe that officials had to abandon the Sunday encounter between Hardrock FC and Dynamos FC entirely. In an official statement shared on the social media platform X, the police stated that they confirm the arrest of the CEO of Hardrock FC, Kudzanai Hove, in connection with the violence at Chahwanda Stadium on Sunday, adding that more information will be released in due course. The government quickly condemned the disturbances, explaining that the chaotic behavior directly endangered the players, match officials, and supporters inside the venue. This incident also caught the attention of the Sports Ministry, which explained that such violence damages ongoing efforts to restore international confidence in Zimbabwean football. Despite the trouble, the ministry commended both the Zimbabwe Football Association and the Premier Soccer League for their responses following the chaos. Police officials have confirmed that their investigations into the matter are still continuing, and they will release more details as the case develops.
