PHOTOS: Aston Villa and Adidas Unveil Stunning New Home Kit

Aston Villa and adidas have officially pulled back the curtain on their 2026/27 home kit, and it is a beauty rooted firmly in the past — in the very best way. The new shirt draws its inspiration directly from the club's designs of the 1960s, most notably the iconic 1969 home kit, delivering a look that is as bold as it is nostalgic. The most immediate talking point is the absence of the traditional blue sleeves — a staple of Villa's identity in the modern era — replaced instead by an all-claret base that gives the shirt a cleaner, more refined silhouette. Sky blue accents run throughout, with the adidas three stripes sitting on the shoulders, a polo-style collar finished in a "glow blue" shade with a claret trim, and matching blue detailing on the adidas logo and club badge. The crest itself leans into the vintage aesthetic, presented in a monochrome pale blue tone that ties the whole look together neatly. In the official announcement, the club described the kit as honouring "the more unconventional claret and blue concepts from that era, with a clean and elegant look, creating a departure from the raglan-sleeved home shirts that Villa have worn in the modern era." The shirt is also engineered with adidas's CLIMACOOL+ technology, keeping performance firmly at the forefront despite the retro feel. One notable detail on the unveiled shirt is the absence of a front-of-shirt sponsor, with Villa yet to finalise a new commercial partner following the expiry of their deal with Betano — and with new Premier League rules banning gambling advertisements on the front of shirts coming into effect.
